Elsa stood in the hushed shadows of the library, the blue feather cool and strange in her palm. A gentle breeze seemed to swirl around her, even though the windows were closed. But before she could wonder too long, the smallest giggle made her look up—a dozen tiny flies still danced in the golden shafts of evening light.
She waved her hands, hoping they’d understand she wanted them gone. The flies only swirled closer, their wings humming like laughter. One landed on her nose and squeaked, “We like your library!”
Elsa stifled a smile. With a thoughtful sigh, she remembered her spellbook, the one with the silvery cover. She retrieved it from the table, flipping through the pages until she found a spell called “Gentle Guide.” She spoke the words softly, but the flies only spun around her, chattering in tiny voices.
“What can I do to make them go?” she wondered aloud.
Suddenly, the blue feather warmed in her hand. A faint shimmer traced its edge, sending out a soft, musical note. The flies paused, hovering in midair. Elsa’s eyes widened. She raised the feather and swept it gently through the air. Instantly, a sparkling breeze followed its trail, swirling like a ribbon of light.
The flies giggled again, but this time, they followed the breeze, floating joyfully toward the open window. “Thank you!” they chimed, tumbling outside in a sparkling spiral.
Elsa grinned, feeling a rush of accomplishment. She set the feather on the table and was about to sit when the feather rolled all by itself, tumbling across the floor and landing at the foot of a tall, ancient bookshelf she’d never noticed before.
A faint glow outlined a narrow gap between two books. Elsa’s heart fluttered with new excitement. She knelt, reaching carefully between the dusty volumes. Her fingers brushed something cool and metallic—a hidden latch!
Before she could decide whether to pull it, a soft whisper floated from behind the shelf: "Are you ready to discover the truth?"
Elsa looked at the feather, then at the secret gap. Her adventure was just beginning.
